I am suffering from spondylitis since I was 12, and now I am 23, but there has been no improvement. I am a student, and over time, my pain has only increased. Doctors have advised me not to do anything that involves bending my neck, but I can't help it because almost every task requires bending forward, even in the tiniest way. Recently, another doctor suggested that I go for IFT, but I don't know what it is. Can anyone help me?

P.S: I was given traction for nearly six months, and I was fine then. However, after a short period, I was back to square one.

Thank you for the information. I have suffered a lot due to this disease. I can't even sit for 5 minutes straight. My neck, shoulders, and start paining. Sometimes I get these attack sort of things, and then I am unable to move the right side of my body. I am an engineering student, and I have my studies, but due to spondylitis, I can't even study properly. The worst is during the exam time when I have to write for 3 hours. I get almost paralyzed after that. Can you tell me if surgery would help? I read that cervical spondylitis surgery is quite a risky affair as sometimes it can lead to permanent paralysis below the neck.

Yes ravi, u r right. my doctor told me that this problem usually starts from the age of 13 or 14 mostly because of the improper posture. when sitting and use of more than 1 pillow while lying down.
