I have checked, Vinny, but recently, I have come across a paper notification from the Labor Department regarding maintenance of records and registers and about HSE. If you are sure that there are new laws amended from Apr '09, I have to get that print. If I know early, then I will inform you, and you can do the same for me.
Thanks & Regards,

Hi Vinnie,
Thanks for sending the laughing out loud emoji, but I don't know Arabic and I was quite busy as my assistant has gone on leave. I managed to spare some time to get the information from the labor department; earlier, I got a copy from there as well.
I am working as an Executive HR in a pipeline company. How about you?

Hi Vinnie,
It's a great pleasure to meet you. I would like to know the nature of your job and the domain of your organization. I hail from India and work in Punj Lloyd as an HR Executive. We are involved in pipeline projects. Currently, we are executing 5 projects in Qatar, and apart from that, we have projects in Abu Dhabi, Oman, and Yemen.
So, what is the strength of your workforce? Basically, what categories of people work in your company? Please let me know.
Have a nice weekend.
With regards,
Ramana

Hi Ramana,
Aspire Zone Foundation started out as the Sports City Project prior to the Asian Games. Aspire Academy for Sports Excellence, Aspetar (Sports Medicine Hospital), and Aspire Logistics make up Aspire Zone Foundation. So, you can see that there is a broad range of skills required - sports coaches, teachers, medical specialists, engineers, to name just a few. The current staff levels are close to 1000 but will increase shortly.
Over to you......:icon4:

Hi Vinnie,
Nice to see your email. While 1000 may not indicate a small company, we are currently managing 5 projects in Qatar with a total workforce of around 2000, which includes temporary hires. I am currently overseeing a team of 300 and in the process of winding up this project. I am hopeful that I will be transferred to another project soon.
So, what are your responsibilities? I am interested in gathering HR professionals in Doha, and if you collaborate with me, we can initiate engaging meetups to improve our skills and knowledge.
Regards,
Ramana

Hi Vinnie,
I know a person who works in the Training Department at Al Khaliji Bank and is responsible for gathering people. That's why I am reaching out to you. If we both collaborate on this, we can gather people and start a meetup similar to the one in Dubai, which has been very successful. Why shouldn't we try it too?
Feel free to call me at 5293325.

Ramana

Hi Vinnie,
Thanks, I expect your call positively. Today I am not feeling well, though I came to the office. It's too hot here; I think the temperature is more than 45 degrees. We are providing cold water and emergency ambulance with a male nurse at our sites under welfare/HSE activities.

Shammi,
The problem is there are too many HR folks around - more HR people than there are HR jobs. Many organizations don't differentiate between good HR practitioners and mediocre ones mainly because they often do not understand the real value add of competent HR staff. In many parts of the world, HR is regarded as merely an administrative office, and that is the real problem. This situation makes it easy for many so-called borderline administration-minded individuals to move into senior HR positions.
Hope you find the "right slot."

Qatar's New Human Resources Law, bearing No. (8) of 2009, is only available in Arabic. However, we can purchase a translation of the said law for $300 as it comprises around 54 pages. Therefore, I propose that all interested individuals (we) may collectively contribute this amount to reduce the overall cost. Kindly advise if you are interested in obtaining an English copy of the law.

Hello,
I have a copy of a translated HR Law of Qatar. This site keeps rejecting the uploading of the attachment.
A piece of advice: always cross-check Arabic and English versions since the copy I have was translated by a private company and not issued by the State of Qatar.
Feel free to call me at 4406-4413 should you need to collect a copy of the translated material that I have.
Hope this helps.
