Dear all,

Could you please send me the attendance format, including an overtime column? Where I work, only those employees whose salary is below 5000/- are eligible for overtime. For employees with a salary above 5000/-, any overtime done is adjusted by taking compensatory time off.

I am confused about how to adjust the compensatory time off and calculate the total overtime for employees with a salary less than 5000/- in a single attendance format. What formula should we use in the attendance sheet to automatically calculate this?

Thank you,
Nirmala

Dear Nirmala,

Please don't get confused. The formula for calculating Overtime is as follows:
= Gross salary p.m. / 26 / 8 * OT hrs * 2. It is given double from the double rate. ESI is deducted on this, and you can give a maximum of 51 hours of overtime to an employee in a quarter; exceeding this cap is against the law.

For an attendance format, I am attaching a format for your reference. Alternatively, you can create a separate sheet for people whose salary is less than 5000, named "Overtime Calculation."
