Hi,

The points which may be considered:

1. Reimbursement of Train Fares (to and fro) for attending the interview by the shortest possible route. In our company, we reimburse A.C II Fares (train only). If a candidate comes by air, we do not reimburse their airfare, but we do give the train fare by the same route.

2. Their stay is arranged by us.

3. Reimbursement of Train Fares while joining.

Dear Jeyaseelan.A,

Travel reimbursement for candidates is usually aligned to the position for which he/she is going to be interviewed. For example, if you are interviewing a candidate for the position of Manager, then they will be entitled to reimbursement of traveling expenditure that a Manager in your company receives.

Regarding joining, as the candidate will become an employee, your Travel Policy will be applicable, and usually, a separate provision is kept for the joining process, which is in line with the Transfer Policy.

Hi Jeyaseelan,

Design the policy for travel reimbursement for interviews based on grades. For example, if someone has come for an interview for a position in middle management, the reimbursement will be for first-class AC, for senior management, first-class AC or air (if it is available in your organization), and so on. This is how it is paid in all reputed organizations.

Cheers,
Archna
