Dear Friends,
I worked as an Accounts Executive in a private organization up to November 2007. In December 2007, the company declared a bonus for the year 2006. Since I worked for the entire year of 2006, I believe I am eligible to receive the same bonus. However, my ex-boss is not giving me the bonus. How do I approach this matter legally, and how can I claim my bonus for the year 2006? If I don't receive it, I am concerned that he will keep my bonus by writing my name on the cheque without crossing it, which I find unfair considering I worked there diligently until the end. I also have a relieving letter that he signed himself and gave to me with good remarks.
Please help me in this regard. This is very urgent.
Thank you,
Kumar

Dear,
Please consult a local lawyer and send a legal notice of demand followed by labor proceedings in case of failure to reach a resolution. If he is encashing your check, he will be in deep trouble.

Hey,
Since I have suffered the same fate, I am aware that companies have a policy that the bonus will be paid out only to the employees who are present in the company on the day the bonus is paid out. These companies may have a legal standpoint on it.

Dear All,
I am also facing the same problem. I left the company in April 2008. During Diwali, the company declared a bonus for all employees. When I demanded it, they refused. I have already filed a complaint with the concerned labor office. Additionally, I am planning to send a legal notice to the management.
Thank you.
