Request you to kindly provide me with the process and documents required for creating the ESIC sub-code in different locations if the company is registered under ESIC in Mumbai. Also, can we get a new ESIC code for all locations instead of sub-code creation.

Hope, I will get a reply for all of your inquiries. For any clarification or assistance, please feel free to reach out to me.

Dear Kumar Gurav ji,

It is mandatory to obtain the sub-code for work at various locations other than the home location. Recently, a notification has been issued by the ESIC. Please see the attached notification.

Dear Gourav,

It is always suggested that you should go for Sub Code from ESIC if you already have ESI CODE for an existing unit/office. Because if you take a separate code for a different location, then you have to maintain separate records which are required at the time of inspection for the Final date of Coverage, i.e., Balance sheet, First purchase bill, Sale Bill, and employees' details, salary sheet, etc. It is mandatory that you have to go for a separate inspection from ESIC for a separate code. If you have a sub-code, then there is no need to have a separate inspection of records. You can show the main inspection which is done for the main office. In clarification, please call me on 09891151873.

  • Dear Kumar,

You are required to approach the ESI Office located in the area where you need the subcode and provide them with the information as mentioned in my earlier correspondence (12 points). According to the information provided by the ESI Authority, there is no separate form required. As of today, the ESI Authorities have confirmed that there is no online facility available for this purpose with the ESI Offices.

I hope we have addressed your queries.

    Dear Sir,

Please kindly clarify for me the following: If an organization obtains a sub-code for its branches, do they have to submit returns separately (ESI half-yearly) to the Local Office and then mail the same to the Regional Office? This is because they are obtaining ESI numbers for employees from the sub-code Local Branch Office.

    Thanks and I remain,

You need to send the returns to the respective Branch Office where your branch office is located. The returns are crucial as the Insured Person receives cash benefits based on these returns. In some cases, certificates for 'Super Specialty Treatment' will only be issued by the branch manager using the return details. Please ensure timely submission of returns to the relevant ESi branch offices to prevent any inconvenience to your employees.

My registered office is in Delhi, and we have an ESIC code from Delhi. We also have a project in Pune, where we are the secondary stakeholder representing a sub-contractor. We need to deploy manpower for the work as required by the primary stakeholder. We do not have or need the address of a local branch office since our manpower operates from the primary contractor's office. Could you please clarify how I can obtain the sub-code for ESIC in Pune?

    Please advise.

  • Sir, I was applying for the renewal of the (PSARA) license for security in the Haryana Region, but I received a letter from the Haryana authority requesting the ESI Sub Code of Haryana. In Haryana, only 7 or 8 employees have been recruited, and I possess a Delhi ESI/PF Establishment Code, Sir. Is it compulsory to have an ESI Sub Code of Haryana for PSARA License renewal? If yes, could you please advise me on what steps to take to obtain the ESI Sub Code and where to apply for it? Sir, your assistance in this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

    Dear All,

At present, we have to apply for a subcode online through the ESIC portal. I need a subcode for our 2nd unit, which is situated at a separate location.

My query is simply whether, after obtaining the subcode, we can generate a combined ESI challan for both units using the prime code.

    Please advise.

    Regards,

    Dear All,

I want to create a sub-code for ESIC. I have the main code, but we forgot our password, and the person who did this work previously has left the job, and we are unable to trace his email.

How can we get the sub-code without having access to the login for the main code?

  • Hi All,

We have one unit in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, and we are going to set up a new unit in Nellore district. Do we need to obtain a separate ESI code for the Nellore unit, or can we continue to make payments through the ESI Visakhapatnam code?

Please clarify and kindly guide me on how to create an ESI Subcode.
