5 months, 1-year experience. Nobody counts these as training periods. After the completion of 1-year training, then only can you justify your presence anywhere in the HR world, in particular functions. If you have understood the things with implementation.

I would also advise anyone who is interested to somehow try and learn it from a reputed place because there is a huge demand, and the salary scales are really high.

I am interested in pursuing SAP-HCM, but the cost of the certified course amounts to Rs. 2,80,000 for a complete session. Is it worth undertaking? Please let me know. Other standard institutions offer the same course for just Rs. 25,000. How is this possible?

1. Siemens is not authorized to give SAP certificates. SAP certification comes only from SAP, through an online exam.

However, for freshers, they usually opt for SAP from an Authorized Institution, especially IBM, but HR non-IT experience is a must. SAP HR is basically for professionals from an HR background. SAP HR includes various modules such as "time management," "payroll," "ESS," "MSS," "Recruitment," etc. It is meant to simplify the way of working. If somebody does SAP HR from a normal institute, then please check if they are providing any projects, especially in "Implementation." I also want to do SAP, but in my opinion, a basic experience of a minimum of 2 years in HR should be there before moving to SAP.

Hence, persons with HR domain experience (minimum 2 years) would become a SAP functional consultant, whereas techies (coders) are taken for SAP ABAP role.

It is like any automated HR system but with vast options that can be customized according to the organization's needs. For freshers, my advice would be to join as a trainee where they can learn about these ERPs and start working on them, even if they are not paid well. Once you get the hang of one ERP, you can learn and implement any other ERP.
For experienced HR professionals, it's a big decision whether you want to attend a esteemed institute spending 3.5 lacs with no job guarantee or opt for any institute spending 40k with no job guarantee. Additionally, if you learn SAP, there will be opportunities for Oracle and vice versa. Hence, think before you act.
