Dear Seniors,

Nowadays, as we all know, all companies issue computer-generated payslips or wage slips. We are a contracting company employing a large workforce. We have been issuing computer-generated wage slips with a note stating that since it is computer-generated, signatures are not required. However, objections have been raised by the auditors of the Principal Employers to whom we deploy our manpower regarding this matter.

Are there any exemptions for companies deploying such a large workforce to issue computer-generated slips without the signatures of the issuing authority? Kindly shed some light on any possible alternatives.

Thanks & Regards, J. Subramanian

Hi,

As per the Contract Labour Act or any other relevant act, we need to obtain permission from the concerned local labor authority for an exemption to maintain computerized records. Exemption can be sought for items such as salary sheets, payslips, attendance sheets, and any other documents as per your requirements.

Cheers,
Harshad
