Kerala Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan announced on Saturday that the government would soon start a new company in which non-resident Indians from Kerala can invest. "This is being discussed and soon we will let you know the details," said Achuthanandan while interacting with reporters on the eve of his completion of two years in office. The Achuthanandan-led Left Democratic Government was sworn in on May 18, 2006.

Sheela Thomas, chairman of Roots-Norka, the state government company that looks after the needs of non-resident Indians from Kerala, stated that the name of the proposed company would be announced soon. "It would be a company wherein NRIs can invest and would be assured a good return. The company will use the funds and invest them in ventures where there would be good returns," said Thomas. The state has nearly two million people settled abroad, mostly in the Gulf countries.

Octavious,

If you are not from India, you would get excited on hearing such announcements by the CM of Kerala State in India, who often makes such promises but without any support getting from his party as well as his co-ministers. That will vanish into thin air soon. So my humble plea is that such postings on these sites would not help anyone, including the NRIs, many of whom would not even know about this forum 'citehr.' Some members also thanked you for posting this information. I do not know why. Sorry that I have indicated this as no fruitful result would emanate from such postings.

Dear Gopan,

I am not sure whether you are aware or not that Mumbai is part of India, and my location is clearly mentioned in my profile. Only if you had taken the time and patience to go through the profile or if you understood Geography.

You are only 70 or 75 posts old. Kindly contribute more towards citehr, do more knowledge sharing, and let the experts decide whether citehr is read by NRI or not. Let the experts alone decide the same.

I would like to ask you one simple and plain question. As an Indian citizen and as a Malayali from Kerala, how much have you contributed towards the growth, welfare, or benefit of India? Forget about India, tell me how much have you contributed towards Kerala.

Whatever you said may be right, but openly condemning your own state in such a huge professional website is very sad and unethical, especially when you have done nothing effective towards trying to solve the problem you have complained about.

From my knowledge and experience, I have learned that a person who is not part of the solution is part of the problem, and a person who is part of the problem can't complain about the problem.

I hold no negative feelings against you, for I know it's very easy for people to criticize others, especially when they have nothing worthwhile or valuable to contribute. I also understand the fact that incompetency coupled with the inability to achieve desired recognition can lead certain people to throw tantrums and thus pull up attention they always felt they deserved by creating controversy or maybe pointing fingers at others for doing their piece of work.

I would also like to add that I have never encountered anybody getting so charged up about a general piece of Business News.

I also would request you very humbly that kindly do not provide unsolicited advice. I prefer paid advice, and I pay, of course, but only for the best.

Thank You, Octavious
