Dear All,
I recently joined an IT company where the company assigned me a job to develop basic training modules for different profiles like sales coordinators, technical professionals, backend team, etc. The aim of these training modules is to provide new joiners with a basic understanding of their job roles. When a new employee joins the company, they should be able to start working from the very next day with the help of this training module (a PowerPoint presentation).
I have never developed such a module before, and I do not know where to start. Please help me get out of this situation.

From the inputs you gave, it looks like we need to make new joiners aware of their roles and responsibilities from day one.
I suggest that you go through all the positions for which you need to create the training module. Understand each position clearly and then start drafting your module from the beginning.
Getting Prepared: Understanding all positions and drafting the actual content of the training program. You need to decide how much time you would like to spend inducting the person, the methodology you would like to adopt, etc.
Getting Started: Will you be the only one providing training, or will there be experts involved in the training process? If experts are involved, gather information from them to ensure the training content is accurate. Define the course content.
Organizing the Training:
Your Training Program may include information about:
- Your Organization to begin with
- Roles and Responsibilities of individuals
- Expectations and Goals, etc.
If you are only part of the orientation, there may be someone else providing on-the-job training. Communicate with them to ensure the training content is comprehensive. If you are solely responsible, gather all necessary information yourself and begin the training process.
All that is required in your module is:
- What you need to communicate to new employees about the job
- Information about your company
- Job requirements for the individual to perform well
- Expectations, goals, and targets set by the company.
Good Luck,
