Regarding refunds, it depends on your amount. If your amount is not significant, your refund will come directly depending on your submission of the return. If you filed your return on time, your refund will come early; otherwise, it will take some time. Also, note that if your amount is more than five thousand, contact your income tax office or a consultant.
There is no information on the website regarding refund status. Anyway, I am also giving you the website of the Income Tax Department: www.incometaxindia.gov.in
Thank you.

Hi guys,
Your refund, whatever the amount may be, will come directly into your bank account (if they do not find any discrepancy), provided you have mentioned the Bank MICR code when filing the returns (A.Y. 2006-07).

No, they send your refund directly to your bank account because now the department has decided to send refunds directly to accounts by E.C.S. It is now the first week of February, so you should contact your Income Tax Office.
Swati, if you filed a return with the Income Tax Department and your case is a refund case, then it is mandatory to provide the MICR number.
Thanks,
Subhash
