I am working with an IT Firm and I want to know the latest trends in the IT industry regarding appraisals. Are the appraisals being done annually or half-yearly? Currently, we don't have a proper appraisal policy. Our employee strength is 25.
Could anyone please suggest to me what the latest scenario is and what kind of appraisal system would suit my organization?

Most IT companies prefer a one-year appraisal period, but small and middle-level companies often opt for a six-month period to retain their employees. Ultimately, you should base your decision on your specific needs rather than simply following common practices.

In the present scenario of the IT industry, where RETAINING is a big problem, most IT companies are conducting appraisals twice a year. Our company is also in the IT sector with 30 employees. We conduct half-yearly appraisals in a concise format without lengthy formalities, and yearly reviews in detail. Please find attached the appraisal forms for the half-yearly and yearly reviews.
