Dear All,

There is a target for every HR personnel to give at least one or two new initiatives for the quarter or within six months. It is normally one of our KRAs. Can anybody give some new ideas in this regard? But except for birthdays, work fun, etc. You can share your experience too. It should result in cost-cutting, simplification of work processes, etc. Please give inputs.

Regards,
Padmini.

Of course, you can elect an Employee of the Month. You could also consider implementing a suggestion box and organizing motivating activities such as a loyalty bonus for employees who have been with the company for five years. If you'd like more ideas, feel free to reach out to me.

Warm regards,
Raman Narula.

Padmini:

Apart from birthdays and having fun, there are many things that you can bring into your organization. For instance, you could create a day with a different name, such as Pink Day. On this day, you can ask all your employees to wear pink dresses.

Another idea is to organize a Fun Day (lasting 4-5 hours) once a month. This event could include a get-together with top management, along with activities like antakshari, mimicry competitions, management games, caroms, and chess.

Consider implementing whiteboard appreciations as well. You could have a microphone in the office for managers to appreciate their team members over the mic while writing on the whiteboard. This gesture can make team members feel great and is believed to be an effective way to boost employee morale.

Furthermore, recognizing the best talent by selecting an Employee of the Month and displaying their picture on the notice board along with an appreciation letter can be a great morale booster.

Another suggestion is to plan outings. For example, you can organize team outings as a reward for timely project delivery. Sending teams, along with their managers, to a restaurant or resort can help them have fun and return to work with renewed enthusiasm.

I hope these ideas align with your vision.

Thanks,

Mirza

Dear Padmini
You can also try following programs
1. Ask to arrange the informal groups irrespective of Age, grade and Designation, and than that informal group has to take the responsibility for any of work in our company such as House Keeping, Canteen Management, conducting Programs etc. You have to watch the each group to find out their performance and issue any price for that Group
2. May arrang the Sports Day
3. Put a “Effective Suggestion Box” in your Company Gate (Speify the Period like 10 days ) – And Place the Circular such as “ Give your Suggestion to Improve our Organization Performance?” Also Note that if you give the Good reply, you will be awarded like that
You can get the Many useful reply for any problems – we are doing this practice every two year once
4. Arrange Company In House Magazine or E-Magazine

Hi Padmani,

You can start with three cheers cards for anyone doing any extraordinary or good act, kind gesture. Then, you can add points for the numbers to cards received and give the weightage in the appraisal form.

Hi,

In addition to the ideas given by the other members, you can also implement the following:

1. Recognize people who come early and stay late.
2. Organize a painting competition for the kids of the employees; the best painting can be used for the company calendar.
3. Celebrate Ethnic Day.
4. Recognize employees who refer a large number of candidates (cost given to hiring agencies is saved).
5. Plan team outings, etc.

Try to form small groups (maximum 6 persons); identify a leader from among them (voluntary or vice versa) and ask them to bring their own thought processes, ensuring they stay within company limits. This will be like a brainstorming session for each team, adding stimuli apart from their normal work routines. We can also identify hidden talents from the pool.

You can start a Thank You store (Instant recognition scheme). Rack with company goodies (gifts), ask their manager to name a staff who did extra, extraordinary work. Cross-functional nomination is also allowed. Manager/supervisor will nominate to HR with a Thank You card. Nominated employees can choose from a store their choice of gift.
