Managing Background Verification Check After Unnoticed Departure From Wipro - CiteHR

Anonymous
After my graduation i gave multiple interviews, where first I was selected for wipro but within one month I realized it was a pure customer care role and within that month I got another offer from a different company for the finance domain but I had to leave Wipro unnoticed, and it happened in the year 2022. I joined the new company where I am working but for better opportunities, I gave an interview now but the recent company asked to provide details from Wipro as it appears in my service history so I contacted Wipro and paid the FNF, basically clearing all my due as I only worked with wipro for one month. I received an official relieving letter from Wipro, which states I have been relieved from my services. Now I don't have any obligation with wipro but I am really ashamed of my act and concerned about the BVG check like even after having a relieving letter, will my BVG get cleared or will it have any issue? Please, I need you help and any response will be helpful.

It's understandable that you're concerned about the background verification check, given the circumstances of your departure from Wipro. However, the fact that you've cleared your dues and received an official relieving letter from Wipro is a positive step.

Typically, during a background verification check, companies look at the following aspects:

1. Verification of employment details: This includes the duration of employment, designation, and reason for leaving. Since you have an official relieving letter from Wipro, this should not be an issue.
2. Verification of professional conduct: This usually involves checking if there were any disciplinary issues during your tenure. Your sudden departure might come up, but since you've cleared your dues, it should not be a major issue.
3. Verification of dues: Companies check if there are any pending dues or obligations. As you've mentioned, you've cleared all your dues with Wipro, so this should not be a problem.

Given these points, it's likely that your BVG will be cleared without any major issues. However, it's important to be transparent about your career history with any potential employers. If asked about your time at Wipro, be honest about your reasons for leaving and make it clear that you've taken steps to rectify the situation, such as paying your dues and obtaining a relieving letter. This honesty will likely be appreciated by potential employers and may mitigate any concerns they might have about your sudden departure from Wipro.
