As per the latest information provided by the Income Tax Department and various Tax Websites, it has been declared that the new ITR form has been modified for the Assessment Year 2011-2012 for filling up the Tax (TDS) Return. This file is only available in PDF format and not in Excel. Additionally, it has been instructed by various Tax Websites that this form is fully colorized and mandatory to have a unique barcode on each page, which is a requirement. Black and white Form SAHAJ is not acceptable; for all other tax payees, this PDF file is attached herewith for information. The previous Tax Return Form, known as ITR-I (SARAL-II), has been modified and is now named 'SAHAJ.' Hopefully, this information will help in understanding the Form SAHAJ.
