Please, can anyone tell me about Earned Leave details in the Tamil Nadu Establishment Act? Specifically, I would like to know the following:

- Number of Earned Leave (EL) days
- Method of EL calculation: based on Basic salary or Basic salary + DA
- Maximum accumulation of EL days per year
- Whether EL should be settled within a year or can be accumulated

In accordance with the Tamil Nadu Shops and Establishments Act, the following rules are applicable for Earned Leave (EL):

1. Number of Earned Leaves: An employee is eligible to avail 12 days of Earned Leave in a year. However, it's important to note that these leaves can only be availed after working for 240 days in a year.

2. EL Calculation: The calculation of Earned Leave is based on the basic salary, not Basic + DA. It's calculated as (Basic Salary/26) * Number of EL days.

3. Maximum Accumulation of EL: An employee can accumulate a maximum of 30 Earned Leaves in a year. If the employee does not utilize these leaves, it can be carried forward to the next year.

4. Settlement of EL: If the earned leaves are not utilized within the given year, they can be accumulated and carried over to the next year. However, as mentioned above, the maximum accumulation limit is 30 days.
