Dear All,
I have an English Language Faculty member. Her salary was 17k for a 10-hour job, from 8:30 am to 6 pm. I rehired her for part-time work from 8:30 am to 1:30 pm with a 13k salary. If I mark her as half-day, the salary will be automatically deducted, or if I mark her as full-day, that is also not correct.
What should I do?
Should I mention a full day or half day? I have a question. Please guide.
Regards, Ms. Walker

She is working for 5 hours instead of the standard 8-hour shift. However, those are her contracted hours, which means she has a shorter (or customized) shift. If she is there until 1:30 pm every day, she is working her full contracted time.
Just ensure your payroll system recognizes her specific shift, or it may incorrectly deduct pay based on time worked.
