Dear All,

Recently, EPFO introduced a facility for online approval of Member Joint Declarations through the e-sign feature.

I have a question regarding why this approval process is not enabled through the DSC signing facility as well. We are currently only equipped with the DSC facility and do not have the e-sign facility. Will this feature be available in the future?

Thank you all.

Reasons for EPFO's Adoption of E-sign Facility

The reason why the EPFO (Employees' Provident Fund Organisation) introduced the facility for online approval for Member Joint Declarations through the e-sign facility instead of the DSC (Digital Signature Certificate) sign facility could be due to various factors such as:

Accessibility

The e-sign facility might be more accessible to a larger number of users compared to DSC, as it typically requires specific hardware and software installations.

User-friendliness

E-sign might be perceived as more user-friendly and easier to use compared to DSC, especially for individuals who are not familiar with digital signatures.

Cost

Implementing the DSC sign facility could involve additional costs for users to obtain digital signature certificates, whereas the e-sign facility might be more cost-effective or even free for users.

Compliance

The e-sign facility might align better with regulatory requirements or standards set by the government or regulatory bodies.

Technology considerations

The EPFO might have determined that the e-sign facility better fits their technological infrastructure and capabilities compared to implementing the DSC sign facility.
