Not only do salaries and bonuses fall under this category, but anything you pay to your employees directly or indirectly is considered compensation and benefits. Medical facilities, doctor-on-call services, recreational facilities, food at concessional rates, and cooperative societies are examples of the 'benefits' indirectly given to workers.
