Medical benefits under ESIC

Medical benefits, i.e., medical facilities through dispensaries and hospitals of ESIC, will be available from day one of registration.

Cash benefits and eligibility

For cash benefits, such as sickness benefits under which leave is granted and the cash equivalent is paid by the ESIC, the employee should have completed at least 9 months of contribution with at least 78 days of contribution during the said period. It is actually available during the benefit period corresponding to the contribution period.

Maternity benefits

Maternity benefit is also available if the woman employee has contributed for at least 70 days in the two contribution periods preceding the date of delivery.

Contribution and benefit periods

There are two contribution periods, i.e., April to September and October to March, and the corresponding benefit periods are July of the following year to December and January of the following year to June.

This can be interpreted as 15 days in a month. If so, yes, he will get the benefits. If the total of such days exceeds 80 during two contribution periods of six months each, he will also be eligible for sickness/cash benefits.
