Background Check MBB - criminal case under Dowry Act pending in court

Hi, I recently received and accepted an offer from an MBB Consulting firm in India. I have a criminal case under the Dowry Act pending in court. It is a false case filed by my wife after I filed for divorce. Will it hamper my chances during the background check, or should I just forget about joining MBB?

Though it is not likely to impact your joining the new firm, if they ask, you should disclose all facts. Background verification is conducted by many private organizations, so one should be careful not to conceal such information.
