My brother worked at Hetro Vizag (Company 1) from 2015 to 2018. During his tenure, the company created a Member ID in the EPF, which had around 12k.

Later, in January 2018, he joined the sister company Hetro Hyderabad (Company 2) and worked for a period of 5 months before submitting his resignation. A new Member ID was created under the same UAN for this employment, with approximately 60k in it.

Following this, he did not take up any further job opportunities and unfortunately passed away in 2019.

After his demise, we attempted to claim the funds. We applied for a claim through the portal using Form 19 and 10C in 2021. The application for 10C was rejected, but the claim for 19 was approved, and we received only 12k.

Upon reviewing the portal, we discovered that when applying for the claim, it was associating the Member ID created by Company 2.

The questions are:

1. How can we access the funds from the Member ID created by Company 1?

2. Is this account eligible for any death benefits?

3. If yes, how can we proceed with claiming those benefits?
