One employee is going to join our company, but he does not have the proper documents from his last employer. I am confused about how to proceed with his joining since he is required to submit all documents at the time of joining. However, he claims that he will not receive any documents from his previous company. Please advise me on this matter.

Previously, I used to take a new employee declaration regarding this issue, but in this case, he has no documents except for his salary slip.

Hi,

It is employer-specific. Some companies insist on proper relieving from a past employer. In IT/ITES, due to project requirements and urgency, many companies were not keen to collect it as it should not delay the joining of a new joiner.
