Hello all,
My question is how to calculate paid leave (PL, SL, CL). Should I start from April or January? Some employees joined in the middle of the year (June-July) and have now completed one year with the company. From which month can they avail their paid leave? Can anyone suggest?
Thank you.

Hi,
I hope your organization falls under the Shops and Establishment Act. Leaves are typically credited on a financial year basis, from April to March.
Regarding Casual Leave (CL) and Sick Leave (SL), proportionate leaves can be credited to employees' leave accounts from their date of joining.
As for Privilege Leave (PL), it can either be accrued from the date of joining or after completing one year of service as stipulated in the Act. However, there is nothing wrong with sanctioning PL from the Date of Joining (DOJ).
