I am working in a company based in Kolkata, West Bengal. Some of our employees are posted in different locations in West Bengal (outside Kolkata) and also in other states. We have registered all of them for ESIC in Kolkata. Kindly help me to know, will they get all benefits of ESIC outside Kolkata as well, meaning:
1) within West Bengal
2) outside West Bengal.

If not, please let me know how to provide the facilities to those employees posted outside of Kolkata.

Dear Chumki,

ESIC benefits depend on contribution criteria. At the time of TIC generation, employees are tagged with the hospital and dispensary under which they usually live. However, one employee can be tagged with two units also for treatment, or their dispensary can be changed as per requirement by submitting a request form to the ESIC office.

The employee who lives outside of Kolkata needs to be tagged with the dispensary that is in the area where they live.

Sub Code is created only when branches is opened in other state. There is no need to open sub code for diffrent locations in one state.

Understanding ESIC Benefits for Employees Outside Mapped Locations

The initial query is about why an insured person (IP) is unable to avail of the facility at the dispensary mapped in their Temporary Identification Certificate (TIC). They have provided both their local and permanent addresses and are mapped with a nearby dispensary. If they are on deputation for a few days to another state or city, they can avail of the facility at an ESIC hospital there for first aid and accidents. However, for leave, cash benefits, or major treatments, they must return to the mapped dispensary.

It is essential to consider that the mapped dispensary is determined by either the working geographical location or the residence geographical location. The local office of the IP should always be the principal's local office in one state.

Now, please elaborate further on what the issues are in availing benefits. ESIC Hospitals do not deny members at any location for accidents and first aid. However, for regular treatment and cash benefits, only the mapped doctor/dispensary can provide them, based on the residence address on the TIC.
