Dear All,

I received an offer from a London-based company. They mentioned in their email about the position of Human Resource personnel, although they did not specify any designation. Now, I am in a dilemma because they have not conducted any interviews. In fact, no consultant has approached me. I believe they may have come across my CV on Naukri.com. Could you please provide your suggestions on the following points, for which I would be grateful:

1) Firstly, they have not conducted any interviews. I am unsure how they can select me without one.

2) The salary they offered is 7500 GBP (Great British Pound) along with a monthly bonus of 2200 USD and comprehensive health insurance.

3) They mentioned 30 days of vacation.

4) No job description or Key Result Areas (KRAs) have been provided; they indicated that they would brief me once I join.

5) There is no mention of the job location, accommodation, and other necessary facilities.

6) They have not discussed anything regarding the visa.

Could you please advise me on how to approach this situation? How can I verify the legitimacy of this offer, especially since there was no interview process? Additionally, is it worth considering this job given the compensation package, considering the high cost of living in the UK, particularly in London, and the need to save money?

Please provide your valuable suggestions. If you know anyone working in the UK, could you verify this information or provide their contact details so I can reach out to them? This is urgent.

Thank you, and I look forward to a favorable response.

There must be a number on the letter you have received. Check the authenticity of the company. I feel it is bogus because no company pays 2200 USD bonus every month. I bet within a few days you will receive a letter asking for money. So don't react. Just wait, in the meantime check the web for the authenticity of the company. And also call up the company and find out more details. You lose little money that way. If everything is genuine (which I doubt without an interview), go ahead and join. London is a beautiful place to live.

Thank you very much for your reply, Mr. Nhaniur. Could you please tell me about this quote: "check the web for the authenticity of the company. And also call up the company and find out more details." Suppose I call them and inquire about the details, and if they verbally assure me that the mentioned salary is genuine, how can I believe them? Please clarify.

Hi,

I feel it's not a fair offer because we have our operations in the UK, and as per my knowledge, in the UK, we do not have many offers for HR professionals. The package they offered is mind-blowing; it's highly impossible for an HR.

7500 GBP is highly economical. My suggestion is not to believe this offer. If it is genuine, wait for a call from the company, take their contact details, speak to them, and then make a decision.

You call them up, they will not even know you believe me. There is no such offer existing. If they are genuine, they will contact you once again. So just hang on there.

Hi Guru,

This is a very high salary and offered without even an interview. How can you believe it? In the UK, you can have a good standard of living for about 500 GBP if you have a house. The cost of housing is high in London, so add another 1000 GBP to it. A techy with 5-7 years of experience gets around 3500 - 5000 GBP as a salary. So, what they have offered is not proportionate. I suggest you immediately contact the consulate of Britain in India with the contents of the mail. Maybe they will shed some light on the authenticity of the offer.

I personally feel it is FAKE. However, please have it checked once.

Regards,
Rajeev.

Hi Guru,

Anyone can tell that this is a fake offer, as you have mentioned that they have not conducted any interview. That says it all. Don't think about the package because they can mention even $10,000, but who is there to pay this much?

Just concentrate on the Indian market only. I personally feel there are numerous opportunities for good HR professionals here. If you still want to know something about them, just drop them an email to get their information. I see no need to call them as they might follow up with you numerous times.

All the best to you!

Hi,

I think you should check the company's authenticity. It is worthwhile to call them up and clarify the same. It is highly unlikely that any company can hire without conducting an interview. I have a friend in London. Please give me the name of the company, and let me see if I can help you to some extent as this friend is coming down for Diwali. All the best.

With warm regards,

Dear Nishant,

They have indicated that once I sign the offer letter and send them the acknowledged copy of the offer letter, they will immediately process the same (they have not asked any amount for processing the same).
