Hi Mr. Ram,
It is a very good piece of information. Could you provide the notification if any issued under the Karnataka government?
Have any other states amended their rules for working hours of women?
Regards,
Smita

Dear Smitha,
Right now, there is press information and publicity by the Labour Minister. Very soon, we will receive a notification. As per my knowledge, Tamil Nadu has allowed night working for women by amending their factory rules. Other states may also follow suit. Furthermore, most of the state Shops Acts have been amended to enable women to work night shifts, particularly in BPOs.
Thank you,
Ram K. Navaratna

Hi Team,
I am working with an Engineering & Manufacturing Co. Our company works on USA processes. We are going to start a night shift for engineers. I wanted to know if there is any mandatory rule in India that the company will be liable to provide insurance (medical or accidental) to employees working the night shift.
