Can anyone please tell me if the new Maternity Benefit (Amendment) Act, 2017 has been implemented already? What are the entitlement criteria for a female employee to avail of Maternity Benefits?

My contribution for ESIC started on 1st November 2017, and my expected due date is 1st July 2018. I want to avail maternity benefits. When I visited the ESI branch office, the executive told me that I cannot avail maternity benefits as my fresh appointment is only from November 2017. Nine months need to be completed to avail maternity benefits.
