Minimum wages or any wage means the gross wages. Minimum wages adherence will depend on the rate of wages, & not wages earned.

Dear colleague,

The wages prescribed under the Minimum Wages Act are the rates of wages and not take-home wages, meaning that statutory deductions such as ESI, PF, professional tax, etc., are required to be made from it.
