Dear all, If an employee needs multiple reminders for a task then what should be done to control this, please suggest. Also if a notice is to be given to the person then what should I write.

First, verbally counsel him/her and document it. Provide him with reminders in chronological order and work prompts that you had to provide. If there is no progress, a written warning and counseling can be given. Subsequently, a formal warning in the form of a show-cause notice can be issued after reasonable verbal and written warnings regarding his lack of dedication to duty, work delays, etc.

It is really irksome to remind someone multiple times about their duties. They are not only unproductive but also eat into others' productive time. You can follow the steps suggested by Mr. Nathrao. However, find out whether the employee is inherently lazy, deliberately neglecting work, or disengaged, and if so, why. Counseling and motivational sessions are appropriate in the last case, but for the first two cases, you may need to proceed with disciplinary action after building a record.
