Good morning, I have joined the TN government organization as an Assistant System Analyst for a one-year contract basis (extendable) on May 01, 2017. My salary was paid by a consultancy. I worked for 4 months (120 days) and took maternity leave for 4 months from September 2017. Am I eligible for the MB Act 2017? If yes, how can I claim paid salary and extend my leave? When I requested leave, the Admin instructed, "You will rejoin only if a vacancy is available." It's a purely government-oriented service sector.

If you joined as consultant and TDS is deducted from your Remuneration then you are not eligible to claim MB Act Benefits. In other case yes you can claim benefit from your consultancy.
