Dear Sir,

I am Naveen Kumar Korlam, working as a Senior Executive HR in XXX Gems Ltd. Here, my question is regarding one of my employees who has completed 10 years of service in a contractual role and is now expecting his monthly pension. Despite being 32 years old, he is still working in the same organization on contract basis.

Could you please provide clarification on this matter?

Thanks & Regards,

Naveen Kumar K

Dear Naveen Kumar,

While being in employment, EPS cannot be claimed. EPS can be claimed after attaining 58 years. Alternatively, Short Service Pension can be claimed after attaining 50 years provided the member is not employed.

Please understand the definition of "Pension" - a periodical payment made in consideration of past service.
