Dear All,

I am seeking advice and guidance regarding employment operations for candidates joining our onsite location. For example, what employment status should be considered for them - as an employee or expat? How should payments be processed, in INR or foreign currency? Is it possible to make dual payments, in both INR and foreign currency? Additionally, are there any other legal implications to consider for such employment arrangements?

Dear Mr. Deepak,

If the employee is on your company's payroll in India, there is no problem; you can pay him in INR following all compliances. If he is on a project for a certain duration, pay him as an expat or keep him on a third-party payroll.
