Hi,

Graphology is not at all the right tool for job recruitment. The following details will clear all your doubts about its uses:

Graphology is the study and analysis of handwriting, especially in relation to human psychology. In the medical field, it is used to refer to the study of handwriting as an aid in diagnosis and tracking of diseases of the brain and nervous system.

Although supporters point to the anecdotal evidence of thousands of positive testimonials as a reason to use it for personality evaluation, empirical studies usually fail to show the validity claimed by its supporters. This may disqualify graphology as a job recruitment tool or court evidence.

Graphology may also be described as an orthographical study, embracing the idea that writing systems operate on style and form.

A company takes a writing sample provided by an applicant and proceeds to do a personality profile, matching the congruency of the applicant with the ideal psychological profile of employees in the position.

A graphological report is meant to be used in conjunction with other tools, such as comprehensive background checks, practical demonstration, or a record of work skills. Graphology supporters state that it can complement but not replace traditional hiring tools.

The most substantial reason for not using handwriting analysis in the employment process is the absence of evidence of a direct link between handwriting analysis and various measures of job performance. The use of graphology in the hiring process has been criticized on ethical and legal grounds.

Business compatibility is an additional service offered by some handwriting analysts. This describes how compatible the individual is with each employee in the company. For this report, the mean, mode, and median scores of every scored data point for the entire company are used to create three hypothetical employees. The individual is then compared to these three employees, with the focus being how good a fit the individual is.

Dear Sir,

I somehow do not agree with you about graphology not being a recruitment tool. You need not recruit someone solely based on his handwriting because there are, of course, other tools as well that have been used over the years. However, handwriting reveals to you what the person is actually capable of, and there is no chance of falsification or pretense where handwriting is concerned. Therefore, we cannot totally eliminate graphology as a recruitment tool.

Dear Jaya,

Graphology can be used in conjunction with other tools, such as comprehensive background checks, practical demonstrations, or a record of work skills to verify the candidacy of the candidate. Actually, I mean to say that Graphology can complement but not replace traditional hiring tools.

Do your best and take rest.

Graphology provides valuable insight into a person's character and hence can be used as a recruitment tool. However, I feel it should not be used in isolation since it may not be as reliable as psychometrics.

Psychometrics are not used in isolation, and neither is Graphology. They are only means to approach hidden traits and interpret them for analyzing behavioral and personality issues (not literally issues as in problems, but just traits which are not always good or bad). As this topic is surfaced, it is also important to remember that perceptions play a huge role when pointing out these tools, and hence rejection or acceptance of any tool is purely subjective.

It should not matter as long as people are trying to impose their views on others. Information could always be deceiving as long as you have tried and tested it yourself. I am a professional graphologist and have a successful venture dealing with Graphology. It's about how you understand and limit yourself with the sciences, including psychology. It works wonders.

There are different approaches to graphology and handwriting analysis. Some use this tool associating it with different other tools. A comparative study of personalities, telling how compatible a person is to another, rather than analysis should be provided individually. Even if it's done between two people, it should relate to how each one could adapt to one another.
