I work with an MNC in Sriperumbudur near Chennai. Our unit has received all the approvals except the running license from the local panchayat. Please help me with the procedures to obtain the license.

Thanks and Regards,

Dear Senthil,

This is Ramesh from Trichy. I am working with Auro Mira Bio Energy Ltd as an Executive HR & Admin. If you get a Running License from the Local Panchayat, initially, we go to our union office in your panchayat with the following documents: 1) NOC from the panchayat, 2) PCB Approval, 3) Factory license, 4) Fire License. At the Union Office, they provide a separate form for the Running License. Along with the form, we submit the documents and the allotted amount via DD. This is the procedure for obtaining the Running License.

After that, yearly renewal of the license can be done at the Panchayat Office itself. If you need any clarification, feel free to contact the following mobile numbers.

Sir,

We are working in construction contract work in an MNC company in Sriperumbudur. The professional tax is applicable in the village panchayat. Some clients said P.T. is only for town panchayats and municipalities, and corporations only. Is this correct or not? Kindly clarify.

Mr. Sendil and Mr. Ramesh from Trichy are correct for the existing running license. For the new license, you have to obtain a no-objection form from above all. Furthermore, you need to get building plan approval from the Planning department. The amount is fixed as per the existing horsepower multiplied by Rs. 75.
