There would not be a specific retail industry appraisal system. Most of the appraisal systems in retail should have weekly, monthly, and quarterly reviews to ensure that targets are being met, specifically for operations/sales vertical. You may have KPIs for head operations and then percolate the same down to the store level. Usually, the best practice would be to follow the BSC to cover all aspects of the job.

Retail industry would have no difference from any other PMS system. It's only the parameters/KRAs/KPIs that have to be aligned with it. Besides, it will vary between the front house staff and the back of the house. FOH could be tied with sales, customer satisfaction index, dump %, attrition, etc. Merchandising could have fill rate percentage, on-time delivery, etc. It has to be role-specific.
