My query is regarding the payment of welfare cess. I am working for a construction firm in Gujarat that undertakes contracts for GETCO (Gujarat Electricity Board, Government contracts). We are required to pay 1% of the project amount in welfare cess, which is later refunded by GETCO. However, we do not have a vendor number or registration number. Every time we need to make a payment, we visit the local office near town, where a challan is prepared, and we then make the deposit in SBI.
My question is, how can I make payments online?
