Dear All, We have received work orders from a reputed organization. They have provided different work orders for various areas and departments. However, all other areas fall under the same factory premises. This is where the confusion arises!

Labor License Application

Do we apply for a single labor license for the entire workforce and all areas, or do we need to obtain separate licenses for each specific work order? Please guide me. As far as I know, licenses need to be applied for separately according to the respective work order/agreement.

Regards, Vikram

You are right. A license is contract-specific. Hence, a license should be obtained based on Form V provided by the company for every contract. It seems that they have registered their various establishments (maybe departments also) under the CL (R&A) Act. Many Forms V have their own advantages and disadvantages. You may not need a license for a contract with less manpower than 20.
