Hello, I have noticed that employees are prone to spreading gossip. As an HR professional in my organization, some employees approach me to share gossip. However, I maintain complete professionalism with them. When the purpose of the rumor or gossip is to malign another employee, it can cause tremendous harm to the workplace culture and, of course, poison the entire environment.

Counseling for Gossip Issues

Do we provide any counseling for this issue, especially considering that these employees are top-notch performers in my organization?

Addressing Gossip and Rumor-Mongering in the Workplace

Gossipers and rumor mongers are omnipresent. Identify these elements and provide counseling. If they do not correct their actions, further disciplinary action may be initiated based on evidence.
