Salary Calculation Periods
Every month, the salary month days are counted from the 25th to the 24th of the next month. For example, Dec. 25th to Jan. 24th (31 days), Jan. 25th to Feb. 24th (31 days), Feb. 25th to March 25th (28 days).
If an employee is on leave without pay (LOP) on the 15th of February during the aforementioned salary period, do we calculate the month (as per the above-mentioned period) as consisting of 31 days or 28 days?
Please clarify.

As you have given the example as Dec. 25th to Jan. 24th (31 days; considering December), Jan. 25th to Feb. 24th (31 days; considering January), and Feb. 25th to March 25th (28 days; considering February), please correct me if I am wrong.
However, if you are taking 5 days in advance, then Dec. 25th to Jan. 24th (31 days; should be considered as January, not December). Similarly, Jan. 25th to Feb. 21st (28 days; should be considered as February).
So, please confirm first how you are exactly considering the month instead of the example.

You are right. From 25 Dec to 24 Jan, I am considering it as January. I just mentioned it wrongly in the example. However, my query still remains the same. From 25 Jan to 24 Feb will be my salary for February, and from 25 Feb to 24 Mar will be the salary (28 days) for March.

If you are considering Dec. 25th to Jan. 24th (31 days; as January), then February should be considered from Jan. 25th to Feb. 21st (28 days). Then this problem should not arise, as it will be treated as February. Whereas, just consider that you were absent on 25th Feb, instead of 15th Feb. Then, as 25th Feb will be a day of March, the LOP will be treated as a March day. Hope your doubt is clear now.
