I have 2 years of experience in an MNC as an HR. I resigned from my job and took a break for 1 year due to personal reasons, and now I am finding it difficult to get a good job. I have been offered an HR Executive job in a small software company with fewer than 100 employees. However, it has no HRMS and no automation at all. Everything is still paperwork and manual processing. I am not sure if there are other firms like this and if it would be wise to work here. Please give me your honest opinion.

Just because an organization adopts primitive or mechanical processes, it is too early to conclude that it is not a good place to work. Maybe they have a reason. The virtues of an organization lie in its objectives and the vision that its CEO, management, director, or founder has for it. I suggest you research the organization before making up your mind. Also, try to put your word forward about adopting enhanced ways of HRMS before the management.

Transforming Challenges into Opportunities

The size of the organization does not matter. The absence of HR policies also does not matter. The lack of sophistication too does not matter. The amount of compensation also does not matter, given the fact that you too are inclined to revive your career.

If the organization has a good culture and amiable environment, you can transform yourself into a change agent by seizing the opportunity to show initiative in formulating SOPs and introducing policies that help turn it into a workplace where every employee is eager to return the next day after leaving for home in the evening. It is only you who can make that decision.

I would support what Saiconsult has expressed. It will be a good opportunity for you to prove yourself by streamlining HR practices in such an organization. Have a check on the company's financial stability and working atmosphere. Give it a thought that you want to revitalize your career and make a decision.

All the best!

I think company size doesn't matter for HRMS because I already worked with a company of 1800 employees, but there was no HRMS. I used Excel for salary processing and other tasks.

Based on my experience and opinion, I would suggest you consider joining that company because a one-year gap can become challenging over time, making it harder to secure a job in HR.

Good luck with your future!

My honest opinion is that this is a great opportunity for you to test your own capabilities. This opportunity will provide you with a valuable learning experience that will add value to your career or profile. Please go ahead and be a change agent as suggested by Saiconsult.
