I am working in a private limited company in Gujarat. We are planning to establish a new factory (a division of a Gujarat-based company) in Tamil Nadu. Please advise me on the necessary steps for company registration and initiating factory operations. Our plan is to set up an assembly unit only in Tamil Nadu with just 9 workers to be appointed there.

I would appreciate any ideas or suggestions you could provide regarding this matter.

To start the factory in Tamil Nadu, you must obtain the following licenses and registrations:

1. Factory License
2. Shops & Establishments, Labour Welfare
3. Professional Tax
4. Employee State Insurance (ESIC)
5. Provident Fund (EPFO)
6. Central Sales Tax & VAT (TNVAT and CST)
7. Service Tax Registration (ST)
8. Excise (CED)

We are a Private Limited company located in Tamil Nadu. In Tamil Nadu, the MSME form needs to be filled online. Is the process the same for Shops & Establishments or Labour Welfare?
