The PT Slabs for the state of Gujarat are as follows:
- Up to Rs. 5999/- Nil
- 6000 to 8999 - 80/-
- 9000 to 11999 - 150/-
- 12000 & above - 200/-
ESI and PF Contributions
Regarding ESI, if the gross is above Rs. 15000/-, ESI is exempted. However, for PF, even if the gross is above Rs. 15000/-, if Basic & DA are less than Rs. 6500/-, then PF is mandatory. If Basic + DA is above Rs. 6500/- and you are planning for PF newly, those employees shall be exempted. If employees already have PF and due to an increment or promotion their basic increases above Rs. 6500, then the contribution is mandatory and limited to Rs. 6500/-.
Welfare Fund Contribution
The Welfare fund is Rs. 6/- per month for employers and Rs. 3/- per month for employees.
