I'm in my first year of MBA. I'm a little confused about choosing a specialization. I have a great passion for the HR field because I believe I am good at managing and judging people. However, I am a little hesitant due to the external perception that there may be limited career growth and lower salary packages compared to other specializations.
Please guide me.
Thank you.

You can make a good choice with a bit of homework. It is true that, of late, all management disciplines have a tough time (not only HR), and the economy, in general, is on a low ebb. But all things improve, and we hope to see better days.
Comparison of HR with Other Disciplines
You can make a simple list of 10 points comparing HR to another discipline. For example:
- 1.0 Passion in HR
- 2.0 Pay in...?
- 3.0 Future...?
- 4.0 Growth...
- 5.0 Possibilities for changeover, etc.
This will put you in a better position to judge for yourself. In some other thread in Cite HR, I made the same point: "There are successful performers in every field. Why can you not be one of them?"
