Dear all,
I am here to share and get some fruitful suggestions from all of you. I am facing a very serious problem regarding my occasional stammering while talking to our clients. It also happens while introducing myself and my company to new clients. I can't make good sales or attract others to our products. I can't prolong my talk; that's why I need to wrap up my discussions without getting desirable outcomes. My tongue gets stuck, and I feel so hopeless and helpless. It takes hours and days to get back to work, but it is resultless because it happens again and again.
Can it be treated? Because it leads me toward failure, and I don't want to be a loser.
Regards,
Muhammad Tahir

Hi,
I can understand your anxiety and frustration when you end up stammering. More importantly, very rarely do those whom you speak to have an appreciation of your turmoil and wavering confidence during those stammering spells. You are lucky that you only start stammering occasionally and that it is not an acute condition.
Since I am not an expert on the subject, I can offer you only some amateur suggestions based more on my observations and partly on logical thinking.
- If you have been suffering from stammering for a long time and you have a family history of stammering, then it is best that you consult an expert.
- If your stammering has come about suddenly, then perhaps you also need to see an expert. At the same time, you can try to find out if there were any incidents or shocks that you may have experienced before your stammering problem emerged.
- Since you indicated that you only have occasional stammering, can you find a pattern in the situations or circumstances in which you end up stammering?
I am sharing a link with you sourced from this site where the last person to reply has given his email contact and has offered to give suggestions for those suffering from the said problem.

The final thoughts for you are:
- Don't lose hope. I have a classmate who had a terrible stammering problem while at school, but when I met him 25 years later, the first question he asked me after the initial pleasantries was if I noticed some drastic change in him. It took me a while to figure out his stammer had gone. He attributed it to his professional success and confidence gained.
- You must focus on ways and means to highlight your strengths in other areas that would overshadow your stammering limitation. The quality of your research or presentation or the way you anticipate and prepare answers to possible questions (objection handling) etc.
- Never let your stammering problem become an excuse for any setbacks or obstacles you face in your personal and professional life.
I hope you find an adequate solution to your problem.
Best Wishes
