I have recently joined a new company where I am the first HR employee. I am supposed to work on hiring formalities such as the appointment letter and salary breakdown. Please help me with it.

Difference Between an Agreement Letter and an Appointment Letter

What is the difference between an agreement letter and an appointment letter, as terms and conditions are also mentioned in the appointment letter? Is it mandatory to offer an agreement letter in a small company?

An appointment letter and an agreement letter are essentially the same thing. An appointment letter serves as an agreement between an employer and an employee, outlining the terms and conditions under which the employee will work. It is mandatory for the employer to issue an appointment letter. This practice is beneficial as it ensures that an employee cannot claim ignorance about specific terms and conditions since they are clearly stated in the 'letter of appointment'.
