A well-covered presentation.

Kudos to Vinay. However, I'll comment on a few things, other than the content.

Your opening slide was very attractive. That was the last slide as well, which really means that you've not lost track, and you say what you mean to say. That's good. But make it a point not to use the Italics font style so often. Italics are meant for quoting or to represent words borrowed from other languages (other than the main one—i.e., English in this case) and to emphasize something. So, avoid the overusage of Italics.

The color combination was not proper. The black background is good, but it does not support pale red and green. The foreground-background color mismatch is seen often. Use more pictures. There are a few pics, but use more, rather than all texts scrolling around.

Have a contents page: like what the audience will know (ideally), once you finish the presentation, i.e., a slide concerning the objective of your presentation should be added. In the same way, a summary with regard to the objectives could be added at the end of the presentation.

Well, other things are all just perfect. Good show, Vinay. Keep it up.

Hi Vinay,

Thank you for sharing the valuable PowerPoint presentation with us. After defining and describing the competency, do you have any ideas or are there any mature methods to assess the competency performance?

Best regards,

Hi Vinay,

Your presentation was excellent. I can understand how much hard work and interest are behind it. What is your profession? Do you normally design these kinds of presentations? Congratulations and all the best!

Hi Vinay,

The presentation is simply superb. Great work; keep it up. I just wanted to know a bit more about the following:

1) How to define the general and specific competencies

2) How do we judge them? (If we are using BEI, how should the questionnaire be prepared?)

3) How do we sum up the entire exercise?

Please give me your valuable inputs on the same.

Hi Vinay,

Thank you, Vinay, for such a comprehensive presentation. It covers every aspect of competency mapping, including methods of competency mapping, competency models, competency dictionary, and the implementation of data collected in the form of recruitment and selection, performance appraisal, and training needs identification. A very good presentation indeed, but one thing was missing - competency matrix. It is through the use of the competency matrix that we can understand the generic, managerial, and functional competencies used in competency models.

Very good and really commendable work.

Could you please provide me with some practical tips and steps to perform competency analysis as I would like to introduce it in my organization. At this time, we do not have any such system. Your valuable and prompt response would be of great help to me.

Hello Vinay,

This is by far the best presentation on competency mapping I have seen. Excellent work, and I hope you continue posting more. Do you have an organizational competency framework? I have to do some research work on this.

Hi Vinay,

Thanks for the presentation, but I need a little more help from your side. I am working on a project on competency analysis and would like to know about the broad skills required at the various levels of management - lower, middle, and higher levels.

It would be really nice if you could guide me on this.

I am looking forward to a positive reply soon.

I am working on a project for my summer internship where I have to connect the competency framework of my company with the recruitment process and PMS. If you come across anything else that you think can assist me with my project, please send it to me. I would be very thankful.

Wonderful presentation, I must say, especially for a non-HR person like me. It's good to know the basics. You have mentioned the sequence like this - Knowledge, Skills, Attributes, or traits. Both from a lateral thinking perspective and empirical examples. Maybe it could be the other way around - attributes, skills, knowledge - http://mypyp.wordpress.com/. Importance has to be according to the sense of proportion.
