Mr. Nitin, thanks for your information. It's good information that you shared. In addition to your information, here are some points from me:

EPF Act Applicability in Jammu & Kashmir

Our regular EPF Act (for freshers) does not apply to Jammu & Kashmir. Instead, J&K has the Jammu and Kashmir Employees Provident Funds (and Miscellaneous Provisions) Act, 1961, which was recently amended. The above attachments are the Government Orders (GO) relating to this amendment.

2012 Amendment Highlights

- The establishment for coverage under the EPF Scheme will be raised from 5 to 10 employees.
- It also recommended that the rate of contribution of the employer will be increased from 8.33% to 12%.

Those who are running their business in J&K should be aware of these statutory changes. If you have any issues, feel free to contact me.

Regards,
Ramnarayan
