Dear Mr. Prasad,
It is good that you have posted a safety presentation on centrifuges for the benefit of viewers.
Types of Centrifuges
1.0 As you are aware, there are different types of centrifuges – top-driven, bottom-driven, belt-driven, direct-driven, etc. You could have mentioned the one you have referred to.
Applications of Centrifuges
2.0 Centrifuges are found in many locations – say a clinical laboratory, a research lab, small-scale industry, big industry, etc. You could have specified for what application the referred centrifuge is used.
Centrifuging Operations
3.0 Centrifuging operations can be conducted for a simple separation of slurry or special applications like what you have mentioned using Nitrogen. Since an inert atmosphere is specified in your presentation, you could have also mentioned why you need an inert atmosphere. This will provide process safety awareness to the viewer.
Slide Content Verification
4.0 In the third and fourth slides, the last line is the same. Is it correct?
Safety Aspects
5.0 What is the purpose of a wristband – safety aspect? Please explain for the benefit of viewers.
Slide Quality
6.0 All the slides seem to have been made in a hurry. They require editing.
Oxygen Level Monitoring
7.0 Oxygen level monitoring is not required for all types of centrifuging. Please mention the specific safety aspect for the application you have mentioned.
Vent and Catch Pit
8.0 It is mentioned that the vent is connected to a catch pit. Is the catch pit under vacuum?
Flame Arrester
9.0 Please mention the reason for providing a flame arrester in the catch pit. What is the safety reason for the same? That is, mention the explosive gas or combustible material in your case.
Safety Guidelines
10.0 The DOs are more than the DON'Ts. Please see if it is necessary to add more of DON'Ts.
Visual Aids
11.0 A simple sketch showing what is to be centrifuged, the drive arrangement, the outputs, catch pit, flame arrester, Nitrogen source, basic instrumentation, etc., would help the viewers understand your system and safety aspects better.
Thanks for the initiative taken to share the posting.

A wristband is used for the ESD (electrostatic discharge) of those who are working in the centrifuge room. This is a preventive measure for preventing the generation of static electricity in the human body during activities. Most bulk production plants use centrifuges for material drying. In such conditions, it is essential to maintain an inert atmosphere as a safe mode of operation.

Thank you for your feedback. I am a Chemical Engineer with experience in the areas of Manufacturing and Projects, besides many others related to Heavy Industries. My questions addressed to Mr. GDV Prasad were with a view of knowing more about safety-related issues pertaining to Centrifuge operations.
