Dear Friends,
Hi! We are an engineering company providing turnkey solutions to our clients. We have an employee strength of 13. Are we eligible to go in for EPF? What is the minimum employee strength required to go in for EPF?
Also, we are planning to take up an insurance policy for our site engineers. We checked out WC Policy, Group Personal Accident Policy, and also Personal Accident cover. However, different insurance agents have a different view of WC Policy. Some say that engineers aren't eligible for WC, while some say that engineers can be covered. Can somebody help me out?

Hi Tittli,
To get registered with the PF department, the minimum number of employees should be 20. Every employer of an establishment to which the Employee Provident Fund Act applies should submit in Form 5A (in duplicate) to the commissioner, particulars of all the branches and departments, owners, directors, partners if any, or any other person who is controlling its affairs within 15 days of the applicability of the scheme.
Upon receipt of Form 5A, the commissioner shall verify the particulars submitted and, after being satisfied, shall allot an Establishment Code No. I hope this information provides some insight to you.

Dear All,
Hi! Like I wrote earlier, my company, based in Baroda, has around 13 employees, and we want to go in for PF scheme. Following are the queries I have:
1) We want to go in for VPF - because someone told us that our company is eligible for only that.
2) What are the procedures to go in for VPF?
3) What are the documents that are required?
4) How and when are these documents to be submitted?
5) What are the benefits associated with VPF?
6) Is there some Insurance benefit linked to VPF? If so, what is it?
Please help.
